NATIONAL SPEECH CONTEST FINALIST BECOMES
SPEECH INSTRUCTOR TO LOCAL STUDENTS

For seven years, Steve Medlin was active with the Concord Jaycees. He won the State speech contest four times and competing at the national final.

Jaycees is a leadership and service organization for people between the ages of 18 and 40.

Steve joined the Jaycees in 1978 and spent seven years as instructor of the state “speak up” program to teach public speaking, Many members were scared of public speaking. Steve trained twice a month how to enjoy the art of speaking. Jaycees learned to make a convincing and compelling presentation. Successful careers were launched through the Jaycees speak up program.
